Chiudiamo un avventura. Closing an adventure.

Finalmente ieri, dopo circa 10 giorni, tutte e tre le apine sono potute uscire a giocare fuori.  Fortunatamente entrambe N e C mi e’ sembrato si siano completamente riprese e quindi le ho lasciate giocare liberamente, con qualche pausa di riposo.

 

Al contrario J, era stato molto male, e quando era uscito per la prima volta, era deboluccio e affaticato, e la passeggiata era stata per lui difficile, tanto che l’ho riportato a casa sulle spalle.

Che dire? E’ stato un periodo complicato e ne ho risentito anche io, tanto che sabato pomeriggio ho abbandonato tutti, ho chiuso la porta e ho dormito per tre ore filate. Cosa per me davvero eccezionale.
Mi sono appena resa conto di avere dovuto accudire bambini malati dall’inizio di dicembre, fra febbre, grastroenteriti, orecchioni e raffreddori. Insomma, ho decisamente bisogno di un periodo vacanza, anzi di un periodo convalescenza.
Piano piano la vita riprende un flusso forse un tantino piu’ tranquillo, e anche oggi abbiamo trascorso una giornata interessante, piena di tante piccole cose interessanti.
Visitatori, lavori in corso per la casetta delle galline (lo so che dovrei chiamarlo pollaio, ma cerco un nome un pochino piu’ interessante). Raccolta dei primi funghi della stagione. E io in piena programmazione per il prossimo anno scolastico.

 

Ma prima di raccontarti di questo, devo fare un passo indietro, prima dell’epidemia di orecchioni, anzi fra le due ondate.
Infatti, era da prima di Natale che volevo (dovevo) chiudere ufficialmente l’anno scolastico. Volevo fare qualcosa di speciale per evidenziare questo momento, ma non mi e’ venuta nessuna idea particolarmente accattivante.

Fra una malattia e l’altra ho rimandato e rimandato.
Alla fine sono riuscita ad avere questi (amigurumi) pronti.

Ho messo anche ordine fra tutte le carte, i fogli e disegni che avevano colonizzato ogni superficie libera  (e non) della casa. Ho preparato delle cartelle che ho usato per riporre i quaderni e i disegni dei bambini.

 

Ho consegnato le cartelle, che poi hanno fatto vedere ad ape operosa papa’, che ha guardato il loro lavoro con il giusto tanto di esclamazioni di ammirazione. E anche i gufetti, che sono piaciuti proprio tanto.

 

Gran finale muffins al cioccolato con panna montata e un po’ di gelato, che hanno preferito lasciare a squagliarsi sul tavolo per andare a saltare sul tappeto elastico appena montato. (Ti ricordi che il precedente era volato via in quei giorni di venti di tempesta?)

 

 

 

 

Bene, adesso ti saluto e torno alla mia programmazione per il prossimo anno, che in realta’ iniziera’ fra circa due settimane.

Closing an adventure

Eventually, yesterday, after 10 days of seclusion, all three the little busy bees were well enough to go and play outside. Luckily, bot C and N have recovered completely, quicker than J did, and they could play happily and freely, with little resting time in between.

On the contrary J had taken a few extra days to recover completely. So  much that during the first walk outside he was weak and tired, so much that I carried him back home.

What can I say? It has been a difficult time, for me too. So much that on Saturday afternoon, I left everybody, I closed the door, and I slept for three continuous hours. Which is pretty exceptional for me.
I have just realized that I have been taking care of sick children since beginning December, starting with high fever, then gastrointestinal virus, then mumps and a cold. Yes, I do need a break, or better a short period of revalidation myself.

Slowly but surely, life follows its flow, and things get back under sort of “control”, and we had a nice day, full of small interesting things.
Visitors, works in progress of the “feathered friends villa” (I know I should call it hen house, but I m looking for a more interesting name). Mushroom picking. And me, I am in the midst of next school year planning.

 

But before I tell you more about that, I’d like to take a step back, to those few days between the mumps epidemic.
Actually, it was since before Christmas that I wanted ( I had to)officially close the school year. I was looking for something special to mark the moment, but I did not get any nice ideas. Then I postponed because of the sicknesses.
Eventually I managed to have these amigurumi ready.

Then I managed to organize all the papers, pages and drawings that had been colonizing every single surface of the house. I then prepared folders, where I put the books and the drawings of the children.

 

On the 16th I presented the children with their folders, that they proudly showed to busy bee dad. He has observed each and every one of their work with attention and the right amount of “Uhh” and “ahhh”.
And finally the little owls. They liked them a lot.

Grand final: chocolate muffins with whipped cream and ice cream, that they left melting on the table as they preferred go and jump endlessly on the newly assembled  trampoline ( do you remember that their previous one was literally blown away by the stormy winds few months ago).

 

 

 

 

 

Well, now I have to go back to my planning for next year (which will start in about 2 weeks).
